Soldering iron with fast-reacting temp. control - has temp. sensor coil mounted adjacent to heating coil but electrically insulated from it

The soldering iron has its temperature sensor (6) constructed as a coil wound around the holder (4) adjacent to but not touching the heating coil (5) (also wound around the holder). The sensor coil is directly adjacent to the soldering irons bit. Th bit fits inside the holder and extends axially inside the sensor and heating coils. The heating coil is supplied via a full wave rectifier from a mains transformer. The sensor coil controls the transistor that controls the SCS/SCR switch in series with the heating coil.
