The stand-by power supply system automatically and uninterruptedly switches a load from a main supply to a standby system consisting of two or more power supplies, or to a stand-by supply network. The separate loads (3, 3') are supplied from individual power supplies (1, 1'). When one of these supplies fails its load is automatically switched (9, 9', 18) to the correctly working supply, which now supplies both loads.
