Agricultural produce, esp. corn, is cleaned and sorted using a pneumatic classifier system. After the first separation the air stream containing a large proportion of grain is subdivided into two flows. One sub flow contains mainly grain, the second containing both grain and chaff. The second sub flow is cleaned sub sieving to separate the chaff, the grain obtained being recombined with the first sub flow. The sieving system includes a stack of inclined trays, there being two discharge tunnels at the bottom for the grain and chaff.
