At the time of mapping, all possible signal point sequences in the subset exist in the basic area of trellis codes and the basic area is other than the simple Cartesian product of a finite dimensional area, In addition, the possible signal point sequence in the subset is a code sequence translated from a second code containing the trellis codes as sub-codes and the second code is of a trellis type or lattice type.
