1511085 Hole saw assemblies F SEGAL 28 May 1976 [2 June 1975] 22404/76 Heading B5L [Also in Division B3] In a hole saw assembly comprising an arbor 20 a detachable cup-shaped cutting member 40 and a pilot drill 30, the arbor carries locking and drive-transmitting means, spring-loaded, headed studs 24, for engaging the base 41 of member 40 to draw it into flush contact with face 20b of the arbor such as are disclosed in Specification 1,476,437 and the pilot drill is held in a recess 26 in the arbor by means of an integrally formed or otherwise secured enlarged portion 33 which is trapped by the base 41 when assembled. Portion 33 may be flanged as in Fig. 9 and fits into complementarily shaped recess 26, 27-29, Fig. 4, or may be hexagonal as at 133, Fig. 10, not shown, for reception in a hexagonal through bore (122a) in the arbor, Fig. 7 not shown, which also receives the driving spindle (121). Chip-relieving apertures 42a may be provided in cutting member 40. |
