<p>Metal carding roller consists of a revolving body whose outer face is covered with a carding lining, and whose flanged ends are mounted for rotation around bearing journals which are based axially, these borings corresponding with borings in the revolving body itself. The roller develops an axial air stream which carries away waste fibres from the vicinity of the bearings, so that the waste fibres are not deposited on the bearings. Consequently, the roller operates for large periods.</p> |
