The object of this method and the structure for its implementation is to provide an improvement in the field of the insulation of buildings. The heated air which accumulates in the region (34) near the ceiling of the heated room passes through the opening (36) above the inner pane (20) and penetrates into the internal space (42) of the structure. On the other side, the cold air penetrates through the opening (40) above the outer pane (22) and is then directed downwards between the baffle plate (32) and the internal surface of the pane (22). The baffle plate (32) prevents immediate contact between the cold and hot air currents. The heavier cold air tends to move down along the pane (22) in a laminar flow which exerts a dragging effect on the hot air, without appreciable mixing. At the bottom of the space (42), the cold and hot air currents leave through the opening (38) below the inner pane (20).

|
