发明名称 COLD START FUEL/AIR MIXTURE SUPPLY DEVICES FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINES
摘要
1497792 Spray carburetters ZENITH CARBURETTER CO Ltd 10 Sept 1975 [11 Sept 1974] 39665/74 Heading F1H The air passage in the body 12 of a starting carburetter 11 has an outlet 58A for connection to an engine inlet manifold and an inlet 82 controlled by an air valve 80 biased towards closing by a spring 86 in opposition to forces produced due to the suction in a chamber 88 upstream of the throttle valve and acting on the air valve and due to suction acting on the end-face of a plunger 83 from the air passage downstream of the valve 18 or a space separately connected by a conduit (98), Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown), to the intake manifold. A metering needle 33 connected for movement with the valve 18 controls fuel flow to the chamber 88 and the position of the valve 18 in response to the suction in the air passage is determined by a peg intermediate the pegs 40 and 43 on a lever 70 pivoted on a pin 42. The peg 43 engages a flange 48 on a rod 46, positioned by a wax filled capsule 45 subject to a flow of engine cooling liquid, which determines the angular position of the lever 70. When the engine is at its normal working temperature the peg intermediate the pegs 40, 43 which is engaged by the arm 37 permits the needle valve sealing ring 34 to seal the orifice 61 and prevent fuel flow. The load provided by the spring 86 may be adjusted by variably screwing the spring supporting plunger cylinder 84 into the body 12 or the spring may engage a nut (89), Figs. 4 and 5 (not shown), on the cylinder (84A). The nut (89) is prevented from rotating by a peg (91) and rotation of the cylinder (84A) adjusts the axial position of the nut on the cylinder. The plunger (94, Fig. 7), associated with the air valve 80 may be biased into engagement therewith by a spring (99), the spring 86 acting against a flange (103) on a tube (95) in which the plunger is mounted. In this arrangement the suction acting on the end of the plunger (93) remote from the valve 80 opposes the force of its biasing spring (99) and the plunger may be withdrawn from engagement with the valve. The fuel inlet passage 27 communicates with the float chamber of one of a pair of main carburetters (23) Fig. 3 (not shown), each communicating with respective manifold branches. The manifold branches are connected by a balance pipe (15, Figs. 3 and 6), to which the outlet 58A is connected. The body 12 has a cover (23, Figs. 3 and 6), defining a chamber communicating with the main carburetter air cleaner (102) and the inlet 82.
