<p>A nematic liq.-crystal display cell encloses the liq. crystal between two transparent plates. Each transparent plate has on the inward side a transparent electrode which is coated with a think film of a high-molecular cpd. The latter (PVA) contains a polarizable radical. Slight wiping produces an orientation of the radical which is also communicated to the liq. crystal mols.</p> |
