PURPOSE: To prevent the occurrence of a tendency to be fastened against a user by a method wherein a second belt connection tool locked in a first position and a bracket is moved from the first position to a second position under a resistance force according to an external force exceeding a prescribed value, and returned as a result of the external force being lowered. CONSTITUTION: A seat belt buckle assembly 10 has a buckle 11 and a bracket 12 expandably joined together through a folded belt 16 by connection members 13 and 14. The two connection members 13 and 14 are guided in the grooves 30 and 31 of cover half-bodies 22 and 23. During this time, when an external force is not exerted by compression springs 19 and 20 interposed therebetween, the half-bodies approach each other, the effective length of a belt 16, namely, a distance between the buckle 11 and the bracket 12 is shortened. In this case, when an external force exceeding a prescribed value is exerted, the two connection members 13 and 14 are separated from each other against the spring forces of the compression springs 19 and 20, and the effective length of the belt 16 is lengthened. This constitution eliminates a tendency to fasten a user by an automatic lock retractor assembly. |
