The level controller, which also acts as a stop valve on an infusion instrument. The pressure is kept constant to within very narrow limits and the liquid is delivered in droplets. The air is prevented from entering the system when all the liquid is used up. The air inlet and outlet of the controlling device is provided with sterilised cotton wool (1) to filter the incoming air. There is a pin (2) on each side of the drive (4) of the controller. One end of the pin has a spherical shape and is used to seal off both the top and the bottom.
