Electro-photothermographic material - with semiconductor between electrically conductive substrate and charge-sensitive thermographic layer (BE 12.4.78)

Electrophotothermographic recording material has an electrically conductive substrate (e.g. Ni-coated polyester) and a charge-sensitive thermographic layer, sepd. by a semiconductor layer. Pref. the substrate has an electrically conductive coating, a 3-20 mu layer of 10-40 wt. % organic semiconductor and/or a thermographic layer based on an organic Ag salt and a reducing agent. Material is used esp. in x-radiography. The material gives high contrast and density values. It gives better resolution and has a better dielectric strength than a sandwich of an electrophotographic photoconductor and an electrosensitive recording material.
