<p>The vehicle speed control system uses two cables, the first of which (KQ) is substantially straight and the second of which (KV) has a sawtooth waveform. The two cables are linked together by a sample-and-hold circuit, which operates in response to a series of impulses (J) at time intervals (T) which are variable. The vehicle speed (V) is adjusted to the required value by the equivalence equation V = S/T, where S is the pitch of the saw tooth waveform of the second cable (KV) and T is the time spacing of the steering correction pulses.</p> |
