Slab - shaped constructional elements of concrete or other settable material are formed in a plant comprising a battery of moulds formed by a plurality of partitioning plates 5 and upwardly open frame-members 4 therebetween, an assembly station 31 and a disassembly station 32, pressure members at the assembly station to urge the battery against abutment members at the disassembly station and transfer means 6, pivotable about a vertical axis 36 to transfer plates 5 and members 4 from the disassembly station. The apparatus may also comprise a parallel return section 27 to receive plates 5 and members 4 from transfer means 6 to be returned, e.g. after cleaning, oiling, etc. to assembly station 31 by means of further transfer apparatus 6, or alternatively further assembly and disassembly stations with pressure and abutment members so that a second battery of moulds parallel to the first may be assembled. Plates 5 and members 4 may be suspended from rails and the pressure and abutment members may comprise actuating arms transverse to the direction of travel of the battery, engageable in recesses in the plates 5 and supported on carriages which are displaceable in the direction of travel of the battery. |
