Automatic form positioning unit for office machine - uses additional marking on form to facilitate precise positioning of line to be printed

An automatic positioning unit aligns forms so that they can be printed in an office machine makes use of line markings (13') on the form which are placed at a fixed distance from the print position. The forms are advanced by a line deed transport unit (3, 4) to which is coupled a timing disc (6). The timing impulses from the disc are monitored by a counter which responds to further markings (12) on the form. The counter is reset once the number of impulses corresponding to a line feed has been reached. The transport unit is switched off once the line marking (13') corresponding to the final printed line has been detected.
