<p>The machine for planting seedlings has a carriage with a seat for the operator and a front frame with a roller mounted across it, for making several, e.g. four rows of holes in the earth. The drum has a ring at each side, to hold its periphery clear of the earth, and the region between carries the rings of spikes which make the holes. The outer rings can be made as half rings which are clamped onto the drum by locking bolts. These sink into the earth and allow the inner rings of spikes to penetrate. The wheels supporting the operating carriage are height adjustable on their axle.</p> |
