Hydrofoil craft with inverted cranked-wing foils - has propulsion and steering gear positioned low down with foil parts above water providing aerodynamic lift

The hydrofoil has inverted gull wing shaped foils which are so constructed that they provide the buoyancy needed to keep the craft afloat when stationary. In motion, the hydrodynamic increases with speed to reduce immersion and thus resistance. The relative location of foil centrelines and craft centre of buoyancy is selected to give good lateral stability. The foil parts above water provide aerodynamic lift the propulsion and steering equipment being in the bottom parts of the craft. A craft can have several sets of foils, arranged axially.
