The work table for developing offset printing plates, has a place for dry working and a place for wet working with both places located over a common base surface and contained in a compact construction. The dry work place comprises a cover (17) which can be folded over the wet working place (2). The lower part of the cover has a frame. An elastic impact damper (21) projects downwards from the centre of the cover lower surface and serves to soften the force with which the cover strikes the lower work station (2). The cover is balanced so that closing and opening is facilitated.
