<p>A carboxy gp.-contg. polyurethane prepolymer of formula (CONH)x-(NHCOO)y-R2-(COOH)n (I), with blocked isocyanate gps. is prepd. by reacting >=1 difunctional isocyanate (OCN)x-R1-(NCO)y with a hydroxy carboxylic acid (HO)y-R2-(COOH)n and an isocyanate reactive cpd. xMH (where R1 and R2 are (cyclo)aliphatic or aromatic gps.; x, y and n are integers, and M as such is not given). (I) may be reacted with hydroxy or epoxy gp.-contg. cpds. to give polyurethanes. (I) may be formulated into paints as aq. solns. or dispersions, solids or esp. organic solvent solns.</p> |
