The autopneumatic gas-blast circuit breaker has a plurality of series-connected interruption points (2a, 2b) per pole, which, for compression of the compressed gas, have in each case one moving compression cylinder (4a, 4b) and one stationary compression piston (5a, 5b), are surrounded by an insulating material cylinder (1) and have a common drive. In order to reduce the cost outlay for the mechanical connection of the compression cylinders (4a, 4b) and at the same time to reduce the space requirement, it is provided that the compression cylinders (4a, 4b) be connected, in order to transmit the drive force, by means of at least one longitudinally slotted operating tube (3) which is located inside the insulating material cylinder (1), consists of insulating material and surrounds a switching point (2b). <IMAGE>
