<p>The pouring spout is for a container made of paper, cardboard, plastics, or metal foil, and holding milk, fruit juice etc. and has a printed end (2) for inserting through the container side. The spout is a plastics moulding, with a discharge hole through it from end to end. At the discharge end is a tubular part, terminating about half way in a sealing flange (7). At this region are ribs (11) for strengthening and to assist handling. The other end is tapered and serrated (4) and incorporates a metal spike (9). Discharge holes (5, 6) pass through this region. A protective cap (12) which can be fitted over the spike before use is also designed to fit into the open end of the discharge portion after insertion through the end.</p> |
