On-off safety switch for electrical equipment - uses protecting permanent magnet to release reed relay and switch equipment off when lifted

The on/off safety switch includes a quenching gas and switches equipment off when the equipment is lifted or not in its correct working position. An arm projects from below the equipment and moves inwards when the equipment is correctly positioned. A permanent magnet (3) is attached to the end of the arm and operates a reed relay. The reed relay (5) is released again when the equipment if lifted. The magnetic flux may be guided to the reed relay by suitable material. The device is esp. suitable for blood pressure measuring equipment.
