<p>The field is to be applied with an extensible rod electrode held on a stand, to the front of the body (this avoids the ill effects of electric fields on the spinal cord). The electrode is extended to approximately the length of the user's body, giving a uniform field which denies infections the chance to migrate to less electrified areas. For cleaning the air, the electrode is placed about 30cm above the floor, so that germs are drawn down, and not encouraged to float in the air, as they would be e.g. by electrodes at ceiling level. The air cleaning may take place behind a screen, e.g. of lead. Pref the electrode has a strip, cylindrical, tubular, or spiral shape which can be made variable in length.</p> |
