The combustion engine with separate compressor for supplying the air or fuel/air mixture, comprises a housing (1) with cylindrical chamber and containing an inlet port (8), an outlet port (9), an opening for the ignition means (11), and a rotor (3). The rotor (3) is cylindrical and is carried on a shaft (2) eccentrically carried in the housing. It is provided with three radial slots (4) containing outwardly pressurised sealing strips (5) in sealing contact with the inner housing wall. The inlet (8) and outlet ports (9) are arranged side by side in the housing wall farthest away from the rotor shaft and opposite the opening (10).
