<p>Device for suspending an iron on an ironing board comprises a guide rail for an iron support, extending along the ironing board, and pneumatic drive means for moving the iron support into an inoperative position on the rail. The rail is pref. at an angle to the horizontal, and the iron support and pneumatic drive means are aech mounted on the rail by means of a ball socket. The iron support moves into the inoperative position towards a resilient stop and/or a brake block, and mutual abutment between iron support and pneumatic drive means is provided by a magnet onone or both of them. The iron is thus automatically returned after each ironing stage to a given inoperative position, so that the user can always pick up the iron from the same spot after letting it go.</p> |
