Electrical indicator using X and Y coordinates - has dark and light slits controlled by transparent film pieces mounted between lifting magnet and return spring

The indicating method is for electrical values given as x and y co-ordinates. The whole indicating surface is lit from the rear by a single light source. The indicating surface is divided into a grid of dark and light squares with an adjacent grid surface having the same size dark and light springs and slits so positioned that the observer sees the switched-off grid areas as a dark area. The dark and light slits are controlled by transparent film pieces mounted between a lifting magnet and a return spring so that electrical signals allow light to pass through for the relevant x and y co-ordinates.
