The portable, flexible mattng for use as a road surface for heavy wheeled traffic, such as military or engineering vehicles, on a soft or loose ground, consists of intersecting wire cables (1, 2). The cables (1, 2) are joined at the intersection points by connections (3) with sections or openings (4, 5) gripping over the wire cables. The wire cables (1, 2) can be straight o undulating at the intersecting points. All the connections (3) posses contact surfaces (11, 12) each of which has a bracket shaped middle part (13, 14) where it takes he cable, and which pentrates the ground when subjected to load, an prevents the matting from slipping. |
