<p>1510178 Valves TAPCO INTERNATIONAL Inc 21 Nov 1975 [13 Jan 1975] 47963/75 Heading F2V A slide valve has: a body 12 with a cover 14 over an enlarged internal portion 38 of a flow passage 22 into which a portion 40 projects with sides spaced from the internal walls and to which a valve surface member 20 is releasably secured; a slide valve 18 guided for sliding movement by interfitting guides and slides 48, 50, which are releasably secured to the projecting portion and disposed at the sides of the slide valve respectively, the opening under the cover permitting withdrawal of the internals of the valve. The projecting portion may be cylindrical, projecting from a conical piece 52, suspended from the body by a ledge 53 and weld 54. The guides 48 may be carried by side members 47 releasably secured to the projecting portion 40 by co-acting tapered runs and runners 49. Inner and outer body shells 55, 57 of refractory material and steel respectively enclose insulating material 58, 78, The slides, guides and valve seat may be hard face lined, alternatively the valve seat may be of refactory material.
