<p>1510189 Valves TAPCO INTERNATIONAL Inc 21 Nov 1975 [13 Jan 1975] 47962/75 Heading F2V A slide valve has body 12 with a cover 14 over an enlarged inlet portion 38 of a flow passage 22 into which a portion 40 of the body projects with a valve surface 20 with which a slide valve member 18 co-operates being guided by interfitting guides and slides 48, 50. The cover 14 closes an opening permitting the passing therethrough of the slide valve and its slides. The projecting portion may be cylindrical extending from a conical piece 52 suspended from the body by ledge 53 and weld 54. The valve may have inner and outer shells 55, 57 enclosing an insulating matrial 58, 78. The outer shell may be steel and the inner shell parts 62, 66, and face 64 of refractory material. The slides and guides 48, 50 may be hard faced. An operating stem 28 may pass through insulating material 78 from which it is separated by a bearing sleeve 76. In one form the valve has two slide members (18b) Fig. 6 (not shown). The valve seat (20a) Fig. 4 (not shown) may be detachable from the projecting portion for easy renewal.</p> |
