A lighting fixture for an instrument includes a flanged member adapted to be located against an instrument panel, a plate parallel to said flanged member, and aligned apertures formed in the member and plate, the lighting fixture carrying a lamp and including an elongated body extending through and displaceable in the apertures, a first portion of said body with a cutaway partially surrounding said lamp, the body being normally located to position the lamp near an indicating scale, and a second portion integral with said first portion and guiding said body during displacement thereof, said first portion being bendable to facilitate access to the lamp. The lighting fixture has a gasket 27 which seals hole 40 in the instrument face plate 42. The leads from bulb 21 pass through the central portion and resilient C- shaped end portion of the fixture 17. To replace bulb 21 the flange 25 is gripped and the fixture withdrawn until plate 43 engages detent 36. The portion 23 of the fixture is pliable and may be bent away to facilitate replacement of the bulb. The end portion of the fixture may be translucent to serve as an alarm or indicating lamp for the instrument. |
