<p>1510575 Valves BRIDGEPORT-BRASS SpA 26 May 1976 [30 June 1975] 21858/76 Heading F2V A safety valve for releasing excess pressure from inflatable articles, e.g. life rafts, has a housing element 2, e.g. of brass, coated or covered with rubber or like material suitable for vulcanizing to the inflatable article, and has a hinged metal closure element 10 normally biased against its seating 4 by a spring 4 or the like. A plastics cover 6 provides protection and has an outlet 6a. The cover can be secured in other angular positions relatively to the closure element to vary the flow rate of discharged gas. A wedge or rubber stopper can be inserted into the cover in the event of malfunction of the valve, to hold the element 10 closed and thereby prevent deflation of the article.</p> |
