<p>1419625 Insulated window frames J H BIERLICH 21 March 1973 [21 March 1972] 13226/72 Heading E1J A thermally insulated window frame F comprises two resilient metallic channel sections 3 having inwardly facing abutments 4 at the free ends of the channel walls, the open channel sections facing each other and being interconnected by a rigid block 5 of thermally insulating material which is a snapfit engagement with the abutments 4. The frame may be formed by feeding the members between a press to spring the metal channels over the block 5. The block may have a projection 14 forming a weather seal with a similar projection on a second frame S pivoted to the frame F. The corners of the frame may be interconnected by tabs 84 engaging grooves in L shaped inserts 80.</p> |
