Insecticidal agents substituted-benzyl alpha -C1-C4 alkyl-2-naphthaleneacetates, are provided having the formula: <IMAGE> WHEREIN R1 represents alkyl C1-C4; R2 is H, -CN or -C 3BOND CR5; R3 and R4 each represent halogen or methyl; m and n each represent an integer from 0, 1 and 2; Y represents O, S or CH2 and R5 represents H or alkyl C1-C4.
