<p>1470317 Coaxial cable connectors SEALECTRO CORP 31 May 1974 [6 Aug 1973] 24181/74 Heading H2E A coaxial connector comprises two straight end portions having only solid dielectric insulator 11 separated by a middle non-linear portion having only gaseous dielectric 12 between the inner conductor 10 and outer 13, the impedances of the straight and middle portions being made equal by suitable choice of conductor radii for given dielectric materials. The inner conductor may be tubular or solid (Fig. 3, not shown), and the end and middle dielectric materials may be polytetrafluoroethylene and air respectively. Another embodiment (Fig. 3, not shown) uses threaded clamping nuts (18) to connect the end portions to the middle portion. The outer conductor 13 is made of a non-magnetic conductor, preferably berylium copper and the inner conductor 10 is preferably made in one piece of berylium copper.</p> |
