<p>1531291 Weft cutters ROCKWELL INTERNATIONAL CORP 29 Jan 1976 [12 March 1975] 03470/76 Heading D1E A weft cutter 18 which trims the weft between the selvedge and inserter is bodily movable out of the way of the reed 11 at beat-up, and comprises a blade 30 which is movable in a mounting bar 19 with a fixed blade 29, the bar 19 being pivoted at 21 on a lever 20 and being connected by a link 37 to a fixed loom part having a stop 45, and the movable blade 30 having a pin 31 cooperating with a cam slot 28 in a second lever 26. Both levers 20, 26 are mounted on a shaft 24 oscillated by cams 16, 17 and a push rod 50 so that, for cutting, both levers pivot with the shaft 24 to bodily lower the cutter 18 until the lever 20 abuts the stop 45 to prevent further descent, continued pivoting of the lever 26 then causing the slot 28 to act on the pin 31 to move the blade 30 relative to the blade 29 to sever the weft.</p> |
