<p>1451378 Printing plates VICKERS Ltd 3 Dec 1974 [13 Dec 1973] 57880/73 Heading B6C [Also in Division H4] An electro-responsive printing blank comprises an ink-receptive electrically non-conductive under-layer 10, an electrically conductive over-layer 11 coated with an ink-repellent, cured, silicone film 12. The layers 11 and 12 are removable by passage of a current between a stylus and the blank. The layer 10 may be of plastics, e.g. polyester, or paper. The layer 11 may be of Al, Cr or Ni or may be a resin-based film containing carbon black or pulverous metal, and such a resin-based film may also contain plasticizer and/or pigment. The layer 12 may also contain pigment and is preferably of a colour contrasting with layer 10. The printing plate produced may be used without damping.</p> |
