The surgical intramedullar brush comprises a plastics tube of biologically harmless material, and a brush section of similar material permanently attached to the tube end. The brush bristle section is inscribed in a circle small enough in diameter to allow insertion and withdrawal from the medullar canal of a bone into which an implant is to be fitted without difficulty, and large enough to give gentle abrasive contact with the walls of the canal during manipulation by a handle (26) on the opposite end of the tube. The end of this tube has an opening (28) sufficiently large to allow passage of a flushing liquid and expulsion of this liquid by suction, so that debris can be dislodged and extracted.
