1492244 Stapling device VSES N I ISPYTATEL INST MEDITSIN TEKHNIKI 3 May 1976 [4 May 1975] 18013/76 Heading A5R [Also in Division B4] In the operation of a stapling device comprising an inserting jaw I carrying a detachable staple magazine 2 and a pivotally mounted clinching jaw 4 provided with an anvil 5, the operating tips 3, 6 of the jaws are inserted into the body tissue and the jaws closed to the appropriate clearance therebetween locking plate 32 is then pushed forward to lock under pins 15 and hold the jaws together, next the butterfly nut 9 is turned to advance the wedge-shaped forward end 28 of actuating bar 7 which engages lugs 20 of driving members 19 to eject the staples 18 against grooves 24 in the anvil 5, a cutting operation being simultaneously performed by the rotating disk-knife 8 which cooperates with an elastic lining 23 in the clinching jaw. The locking plate 32 is attached by screws 33 in slots 34 and has a handle 35 the rear surface 37 of which cooperates with notches 25 and recesses 26 to indicate the clearance between the jaws. |
