Shirred casing sticks are moisturised by transporting the stick past a source of liquid from which liquid is sprayed on to the stick. The spray may be applied to either or both of the inner and outer surfaces of the stick. The liquid is preferably water. Other ingredients or additives may be used together with or in place of the water. The thus moisturised stick is packaged in a caddy. |
