Lockable grab for use in reactor - has components coupled by screw thread with relative rotation prevented by sleeve with recessed edges

The lockable grab has two components coupled together and a locking device preventing them coming loose. Coupling of the components (2) is by a screwthreat (4), and relative movement between them in the direction of the load between components and locking device (8) is prevented, which movement could cause rotation and unscrewing of the thread. The locking device can be a sleeve enclosing one of the components, and with recesses (14) formed in it along the edge (13) towards the other component, protrusions on which engage in the recesses. The protrusions can be a number of pins grouped round the component, and the sleeve can be movable in the direction of the load in opposition to a spring.
