<p>The brick making machine has a filling carriage (5) which is moved from a position underneath the discharge opening of an overhead hopper to a discharge position above a mould. A slider plate (16) across the wagon at right angles to the direction of travel is pushed forwards to discharge the contents. This plate is pushed by a rack nd pinion drive (21, 23) with the pinion (23) rotated by a motor (22) mounted on the end of the carriage. The front of the carriage, which is U shaped, forms the slider plate. This carries an elastic layer (24) on its contact surface.</p> |
