<p>An apparatus is used for diluting or mixing a predetermined volume of a sample with a predetermined volume of reactant. It is particularly useful in analyses. It comprises a reactant metering device fitted with a mobile piston which moves with respect to a cylinder, thus drawing up a controllable quantity of liquid, and valves are provided at both inlet and outlet sides of the device. A sample metering device is connected to the outlet valve of the reactant metering device. A drive system (3) controls both metering units (1, 2) independently. Selected volumes of both sample and reactant are drawn or sucked up and finally sent out through the outlet valve.</p> |
