The two bare conductors of the thermo-couple with an insulating tube are mounted next to each other and connected in the tube to form a thermoelectric junction. The wall of the tube (2) has a notch (2a) between both conductors (3, 4). In the production the notch in the wall is applied only after the two coupled conductors have been mounted in the tube. Preferably the two conductors are exposed to a direct magnetic field at right angles to the loop formed through the conductors. Simultaneously a direct current is passed through the conductor and thus they are brought into maximum distance which enables the application of the notch into the wall by stamping the tube in hot state.
