<p>The rubber mounting flange is integral with a rubber hose, forming one or more passages, and strengthened by one or more layers of armouring and thin reinforcing components near the bolt pitch circle. One layer at least (3) fits closely round the reinforcing component (10) and is firmly secured to its surfaces (10a, 10b) parallel to the sealing surface (11). Each reinforcing component can be an annular disc, there being two of these coaxial and in the same plane, one inside the other. Each reinforcing component can be of metal, plastic or other suitable material, and where they are spaced apart in the lengthwise direction of the flange the clearance between them can be roughly double the thickness of a layer of armouring.</p> |
