Snap cover closure for container - has interlocking circumferential rib sections in cylindrical cap and on container neck

The snap cover closure includes a cylindrical cap which is flexible within predetermined limits and covers the opening of a container. The cap and the container neck are fitted with locking devices in the shape of circumferential ribs projecting parallel with the closing plane of the cap and interrupted in at least two positions. The spaces between the rib sections of the cap are equal or slightly greater than the rib sections of the container neck when measured in circumferential direction. The rib sections (11) of the cap (8) are spade shaped and have a rounded front edge facing the cap opening. The spaces (4) between the circumferential ribs (3) have radially projecting and axially displaced guide attachments (15). The rounded front edges of the guide attachments (15) are positioned a distance away from the interlocked edges of the circumferential ribs (3) of the container neck which is equal to the axial thickness of the rib sections (11) of the cap (8).
