<p>The workpiece carrier adjustment relatively to a tool or its holder uses a probe at an angle to the plane of the workpiece. A measurement surface (12) which probes the tool (1) or its holder, is fitted to a bolt (11) which can be movably fitted on a mandrel (2) in the workpiece carrier angularly to the workpiece spindle (17), both tool and workpiece being exchangeable. For length measurement purposes, a dial gauge is incorporated (16). The arrangement obviates the need for excessive space and is particularly applicable to vertical and horizontal milling machines.</p> |
