1355427 Electrolytic deburring AEGELOTHERM GmbH 8 July 1971 [11 Aug 1970] 32197/71 Heading C7B A method of deburring or rounding the edges of a metal workpiece 39 comprises passing a stream of electrolyte between a negative deburring electrode 26 and the workpiece, the deburring electrode having an electro-chemically active surface overlapping the workpiece edges, the electrolyte being passed through the electrode surface, the electrolyte then flowing over the edges of the workpiece. The deburring electrode may be housed in an electrolyte container and the electrolyte may be forced through the electrode surface under pressure. The electrode surface may be perforated or made of sintered metal. In Fig. 2, the workpiece carrier is a turn-table 4. Workpieces 39 are loaded by shoot 30 and are held in place by magnets 14. Electrical contact is made by spring-loaded graphite strips. After passing under electrode 26 the workpieces 39 are unloaded by shoot 32. The workpieces may then be turned over and placed on a coaxial turn-table for the reverse faces to be treated. |
