<p>Liq. manure is deodorised, disinfected and stabilised by treatment with a soln. of HCHO. The manure is from pig, poultry, beef or calf rearing. The amt. of HCHO used depends on the concn. of the soln. and the reactivity of the manure. Reaction of HCHO with the manure leads to foaming; the amt. of foaming is proportional to the viscosity of the manure, the rate of mixing of the HCHO and manure, the temp., the concn. of the HCHO soln., and possible local over-concn. of the HCHO in the manure. The treated manure can be stored for months in the open air, without affecting the adjacent environment. Bacterial action in the manure is stopped, the treated manure can be exposed to increased temp. or can be dried.</p> |
