<p>Pref. the core diameter of the scroll increases in the plasticising zone and then sharply decreases in the expanding gas supply zone before increasing again in the mixing zone, the gas is supplied down a bore in the scroll core to knurled nozzle pins projecting into the screw spirals in the supply zone. Thus the gas is intimately and homogeneously mixed at a low pressure into the plasticised material so that the gas cannot flow into the high pressure plasticising zone.</p> |
