A locking device capable of being readily converted from a coin controlled to noncoin controlled condition. The extension and retraction of a locking hook or bolt is controlled by a key-operated drum cam which has means for receiving and positioning a coin thereon. A preferred embodiment includes a manually releasable drum-lock which can also be cammed by a coin in operating position on the drum out of drum-locking position when a key is turned.
